Fanschool is how leaders ACE student learning and boost school engagement.

Step 1: Add Teachers so they can activate students.

With your school membership, click Organizations to see Settings. Use the + button to add Teacher emails. When those teachers log in, they’ll be able to create spaces and activate students, who can start publishing articles and see best practices. Everyone sees the Help Center space and Explore page. All teachers will also be able to see what their colleagues are doing and help celebrate and elevate that work as well. Research shows that a transformational learning culture starts with just 5 teachers already doing awesome work.

Step 2: Create Tags to celebrate your school’s best work.

In the Settings of your Organization, you can also add Tags to filter by school initiatives like your profile of a learner competencies. If your school’s mission statement has values like leadership or service learning, adding those tags enables students to see and add them to any article. The best school leaders also run grade level or all-school blogging challenges this way.

An email you might send teachers could read like this…

It’s good to see the fantastic work you’re doing with students. We want to share it more with each other and our school community! You’ve been activated at Fanschool to create spaces for student learning: Simply log in and create a space to start publishing your favorite projects. You’ll notice our school tags are available for students to add to their articles so that their profiles become digital portfolios demonstrating growth year after year. We’re big fans of you! Now you can all connect and collaborate around your favorite learning.

Step 3: Elevate exemplary student and teacher work!

Connect your learning community around your school’s curriculum and create games during events like March Madness, Elections, or the Olympics. Two decades of research have revealed two key findings: that purposeful student work needs to be shared, and that student-directed family engagement is more effective. Start clicking the Feature button on articles. It’s simpler to be it if you can see it!
